January 28, 2009 - City of Talmo
GENERAL ELECTION The City of Talmo will hold its General election for Mayor
and Council Seats 3 & 4 on November 3, 2009. Due to
Mayor and Council positions being volunteer, there are no
qualifying fees.
Qualifying for the above position will be Monday,
August 31, 2009 through Wednesday, September 2, 2009
from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day.
January 3rd, 2009 - City of Talmo,
"Bring One For The Chipper" The City of Talmo will participate in Keep Jackson County Beautiful's "Bring One For the Chipper" program. The goal is to keep old Christmas trees out of landfills and put them to good use. Everyone is encouraged to bring their old Christmas trees to the Talmo fire station after Christmas. If you bring it over the morning of January 3rd, you'll receive a free tree seedling!
December 24, 2008 - Jackson Herald Jon Amos, Allen Creek Farms resident in Talmo honored as the Chrysler/ASE Master Collision Repair/Refinish Technician of the year!
August 29, 2008 - Talmo City Council The Talmo City Council will hold a public hearing on the Talmo Comprehensive Plan at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2nd, at city Hall.
All Talmo citizens are invited and encourages to attend.

PUBLIC NOTICE
District Commissioner Bruce Yates will be holding a Town
Hall Meeting at the Depot in Talmo on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at 7:00
PM. The purpose of this meeting is to gather citizen input and to advise
the public on the legal status of Agri-Cycle.
The public is invited and encourages to attend.
Please let all of your neighbors know that this meeting will
be held. The plant has been shut down for some time now, but we should
all still be concerned about the material that is on the property and the
proposed plan to clean up the property.

September 17, 2007 - public hearing announced for extension of order for Agri-Cycle to remain closed. Hearing will be held at the Jackson County Courthouse on 10/2/07 at 1:30pm. All citizens are encouraged to attend!
September 4, 2007 - Talmo City Council
The City Council has adopted Talmo's Update to the Comprehensive Plan. Review of the Plan will begin in October.
March 13, 2007 - Survey for Talmo's Comprehensive Plan Planning work has begun on developing Talmo's Comprehensive Plan. All residents and sakeholders are invite to complete this survey and fax the completed form to Marilyn Hall at 1-866-383-9001. The surveys should be submitted by 3/30/07.

EPD public hearing to modify Agri-Cycle's permit I've learned from Clayon Dinn, a resident of Cedar Hollow, that the Environmental Protection Division (EPD) is planning to hold a public hearing within a couple of months to obtain public comment on the operation of the Agri-Cycle facility in Talmo in connection with modifying their permit. I spoke with Dominique, the contact at EPD, and requested that he send me a copy of the hearing notice so that it can be include in this section of the Talmo website. However, I encourage everyone who has an interest in the Agri-Cycle operation and permit to call Dominique at 404-675-6000 to express your concern and learn details about the permit public hearing. Check back for the latest info on the upcoming hearing!

"Bring One For the Chipper" program comes to Talmo! A collection point will be set up in downtown Talmo between the fire station and the "Big Oak" to collect your Christmas tree! See the Jackson Herald newspaper article, "Bring One for the Chipper".
